Weekend at Lackland

Jeremy and I got one last trip to San Antoino before the baby yesterday. We wanted to go to the temple at least one last time and were planning on kidnapping Chris off the base but he wasn't given his pass to leave base so we spent the day there with him instead.

Prior to leaving Round Rock we stopped by Round Rock Donuts and picked up their world famous Texas donut which is the size of a cake for Chris. Jeremy and I agree it is probably the best bakery for donuts that either of us have been to thus far. It was crazy busy though. Lines of people and cars wrapped around the building. It draws people from all over. Jeremy observed that the school district's truancy office building was right across the street from it which we thought was pretty funny.

Jeremy and I got to Lackland at about 2. Chris was anxiously waiting just outside the gate so we did a drive by pick up. We took him out to lunch on base at Godfathers and then dropped him by his dorm so he could drop off the leftovers and his donut. Jeremy and Chris caught a game of bowling. Under the circumstances I felt it best to not bowl this time. Chris then gave us a tour of the BX and the Commissary. He had a lot of studying left to do so we dropped him back off at around 4pm and then headed home. Next time we see him hopefully he'll have a little niece.
