Gwendolyn's 15 month appointment worried her doctor since she wasn't gaining weight and was still growing taller so we had a follow up January 4. Only 2oz gain despite as many gingerbread cookies she wanted and constant grazing so after blood work with abnormal readings we were sent on to a pediatric endocrinologist. Turns out she's tall and skinny, 75th percentile for height, 3% for weight but taking in plenty however very deficient in vitamin D. Two follow ups later and she's now on a triple dose of vitamin D to play catch up and we'll see if it worked in 6 weeks.
Biggest highlight was Brian came for an extended visit. Gwendolyn loves her uncle and when he's not here bangs on his door and calls through the house "riah! riah!"
Visited the Waco Zoo on MLK day, Jeremy got it off! :) Saw lions and tigers and Bears, oh my! Gwendolyn has really enjoyed all the zoo and aquarium visits in the last 3 months.
Vegas Baby! Last week of the month Jeremy's company had their annual mandatory conference in Las Vegas so Gwendolyn and I joined him for the weekend after it was over. We played with relatives from up there and her Grandma Hanna drove 5 hours to come meet us for a few days. Gwendolyn loved all the attention. We saw the Hoover Dam twice. Lot's of bad jokes, we won't go there. We visited lots of cousins, and Gwendolyn wasn't shy at all meeting new people. Jeremy was able to join us for the Ethel M factory tour, amazing chocolate is all I have to say, Gwendolyn fully agrees. Jeremy took us all out to dinner at the Venitian Monday night, and Gwendolyn charmed all the waiters. They even gave her complimentary gelato. Unfortunately she wasn't a fan of the cold so when the waiters weren't watching Jeremy helped her and she ate the strawberry, biscotti and chocolate shaving. Interestingly enough most of the waiters were Italian. Fun for Jeremy to practice his Italian. Turkey wasn't napping enough so was a little bit of a drama princess by Monday. Jeremy took me out to see Phantom of the Opera Monday night. Phenomenal performance, it was just very late for us. The flight back wasn't as eventful as the flight to Vegas which Gwendolyn and I flew alone after over a 2 hour delay and an early original departure time. She was knocked out before the plane lifted off the ground,....briefly and then spent the other 3 hours patting the lady's hand next to us and flirting with anyone who made eye contact.
It's good to be home but what a fun filled month!
